Pattern Recipe:
Hook-   Mustad 37160, 6-10
Weight- 12-16 wraps of .20 wire and tungsten bead
Thread- Black
Tail-   Black goose biots separated by dubbing “bump”
Rib-    Silver wire
Back-   Dark turkey tail strip
Abdomen-        15-20 long tapered marabou barbs; ½ black, ½ purple
Wing back-      Dark turkey tail strip
Legs/thorax-    Rust seal sub dubbed heavily
Pattern History:
This pattern is another from my obsession with marabou, originally tied for steelhead. The addition of purple to this fly came about as a midnight experiment. Having landed steelhead and four species of trout with this fly the subtle purple hue has proved it successful. Yellow/tan and brown versions have also proved very successful.

Comments / Special Instructions:
To create the abdomen tie in the marabou by the tips, twist into a tapered rope and wind up the hook. When complete trim the dubbing from the underside of the thorax to give a flat appearance. The remainder of the fly is pretty straightforward
